Proclamation planned for Erv Friesen
City council to consider land purchase, power plant upgrades and authorities of commission form of government
NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on July 18.
The agenda includes the swearing in of Michael Odom as a police officer and introduction of Christopher Walker as a volunteer firefighter. A remembrance for Erv Friesen is also scheduled.
The Citizens’ Advisory Review Committee will give an annual report and NP Mart 14 is seeking a liquor license for 401 S. 11th St.
The council will give second read to an ordinance to spend $460,000 for land for a residential development. The Board of Public works proposes $199,000 equipment upgrade at the power plant and $208,000 to replace a cooling tower.
There will also be discussion on allowing the parks and recreation commissioner and street commissioner to authorize and sign facility use agreements.
