Man with Alzheimer's goes missing from Council Bluffs

The Council Bluffs Police Department is looking for a man with Alzheimer’s that went missing Monday.

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Council Bluffs Police Department is looking for a man with Alzheimer’s that went missing Monday.

The report said 68-year-old Robert “Bob” Shambien was reported missing by his wife who was in contact with him via a prepaid phone earlier when he said, “he was stuck in the woods.”

Officials said Shambien was last seen Sunday when he went to bed and was gone by 9 a.m. Monday, but it is unclear when he left.

According to the release, Shambien may be wearing a green and white shirt with jeans and is described as 5′7'', 200 pounds, with gray hair and eyeglasses.

Authorities said Shamien is known to frequent the McDonalds and Hy-Vee on Madison Ave and walk towards Iowa Western on McPherson and Valley View.
