Scammers may target college world series
College baseball teams have begun punching their tickets to the College World Series in Omaha; but physical tickets for fans continue to be a thing of the past, and experts say that could make them vulnerable to scammers.
OMAHA, Neb. -- College baseball teams have begun punching their tickets to the College World Series in Omaha; but physical tickets for fans continue to be a thing of the past, and experts say that could make them vulnerable to scammers.
The Metro Entertainment & Convention Authority has said all tickets to the CWS will be mobile again this year.
The Better Business Bureau of Nebraska said all digital tickets could make it easier for scammers to make counterfeit tickets.
Experts said the easiest way to protect yourself is to only buy tickets from a trusted vendor, use payment methods that come with protection, and be wary of any advertisements claiming to have cheap tickets.
