Case dismissed on death of sexual assault suspect

PLATTSMOUTH – The Cass County attorney’s office has moved to dismiss charges against 65-year-old William Marks Sr. following his death on Sunday, March 27.

The Nebraska State Patrol is expected to investigate the death. Marks had been held at the Cass County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Marks waived preliminary hearing in county court and was scheduled Monday for arraignment in district court on two counts of sexual assault of a child.

Marks had been charged with sexual assault of a child he met in his role as a Sunday school teacher at a Plattsmouth church.
