Gloria Schroder, age 86 of Thurman, IA

Gloria Jane (Chambers) Schroder was born in Bartlett, IA on September 1, 1935 to Clayton Carlisle Chambers and Freda Marie (Van Scyoc) Chambers. She married Chester A. Schroder on July 1, 1961. To this union one son was born Ricky Lynn Schroder.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Chester A. Schroder, Brother Larry Chambers, Sister in law Marilyn Chambers and Niece Kathy Chambers. She is survived by her son Ricky Schroder, his wife Kristine. Grandson Zachary Schroder, his wife Brittany, Great Granddaughter Harper Schroder. Grandson Zachary L. Inman. Nephew James Chambers and Michelle. Also many Nieces and Nephews whom she loved and cherished.
Gloria attended school at Bartlett, Tabor and Thurman IA. She graduated May 20, 1953 from Thurman, IA. She worked for 5 years detasseling corn. After graduation she worked 18 years at Mutual of Omaha, 8 years at a trucking company and 20 years at Jim Hawk Truck Trailers in Council Bluffs, IA retiring at the age of 75 1/2.
Gloria loved her family, cooking meals, loved to play cards, and talking with her many friends. She started quilting at the age of 81 and made many quilts that she gave to her family and friends.
She wanted to mention her "Guardian Angels" as she called them who took her to her doctor appointments, got her groceries, made and brought food, did chores and repaired things around the house. Helped with snow removal, took out her trash, and all the concerned calls and visits along with other numerous favors.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor, IA with Rev. Jan Phillips of the Thurman United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation with the family greeting friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Thurman, IA Cemetery and a memorial fund has been established.
The Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA is in charge of arrangements.
