ELMWOOD, Neb. -- A Lincoln man is dead after a car accident in southeast Nebraska.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened on Sunday near Elmwood.

Units from Elmwood Fire and Rescue, Cass County EMA and the Murdock Fire Department responded to the scene.

When sheriff's deputies arrived, they found a car overturned in a waterway with the driver ejected.

34-year-old Kyle Wainwright of Lincoln was declared dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
