NEBRASKA CITY - Temporary stoplights are being installed today at 11th  Street and 11th Corso.

A traffic study recommended the stoplights for the new Hy-Vee Dollar Fresh store, which has scheduled a Thursday ribbon cutting.

The temporary lights are expected to control traffic until new poles and lights are constructed in April.

City officials say the sensors are being adjusted to permit more south and north traffic, which should relieve traffic congestion.

Motorists reported Thursday being backed to the Runza on the north and Grimm's Gardens on the south.

Cit Adminsitrator Lou Leone said the temporary lights were green for only only lane during a portion of the afternoon.
