Firefighters extinguish blaze in Auburn home
Firefighters blame extension cord for fire
AUBURN – Auburn firefighters extinguished a working fire inside the main room of a Ninth Street residence last week.
Fire Chief Vaughn Severs said firefighters received a 911 call at 1:20 a.m. An interior attack team went into the building and extinguished the fire.

The fire caused severe damage to the main room and smoke damage to much of the residence.
Firefighters determined the fire started near where an extension cord was used to power an air conditioner.
Nemaha County Emergency Management contacted the American Red Cross to assist the residents at 1212 Ninth St.
