Linda A. Keator, age 72 passed away peacefully at her home in Plattsmouth surrounded by family on August 21, 2020.  She was born in Ellsworth, Kansas October 12, 1947 to Willard “Sandy” and Bernice (Snyder) Wallar.

Linda was raised in Nehawka and graduated from Nehawka High School in 1965.  She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1970, with a Bachelor of Science in Education.  She majored in English with a minor in History and music.  She was a teacher at Elmwood High School before moving to Boonville, MO in 1980 to become a full-time instructor at Kemper Military School.  There she met the love of her life Hervey E. Keator, Col USA Ret.  They married October 24, 1981 in Milledgeville, GA.  There she taught at a Women’s Correctional Facility.  She moved to Plattsmouth in 2015 to be closer to family.

Linda was called G-maw by her two grandchildren Erin and Sean.  She loved every minute of her time spent with them.  She enjoyed reading, listening to music and especially the “Hallmark” Channel.  She donated to many charities on a regular basis.  Linda had a heart of gold and her love was unconditional.

Survived by her son Scott R. Andersen, 3 stepdaughters, Maureen Stapleton, Kathleen Keator, Ghislaine Byrd, nephew Jeffrey Smalley, 2 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 2 great nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Bernice Wallar, sister Sandra Smalley, husband Hervey E. Keator, Col USA Ret., and many aunts and uncles.

Public Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in rural Nehawka, NE.
