NEBRASKA CITY  - Two Nebraska City women have been arrested for what Otoe County sheriff’s deputies described as a robbery while armed with a crowbar.

Sheriff Colin Caudill said deputies were called to a rural location on F Road northwest of Nebraska City on Friday night. A 28-year-old man reported being robbed of personal items, including a cell phone.

The sheriff says 22-year-old Brooklynn Proplesch and 25-year-old Jessica Binau claimed the man owed them money and chased after him on foot along the county road.

The man escaped to a nearby residence and called the sheriff’s office.

A description of the women's vehicle was broadcast and Nebraska City police later located it within the city. The women were detained for sheriff’s office investigators.

Proplesch is set for jury trial in Johnson County on July 8 on previous charges of burglary, arson and theft. She also has a possession charge pending in Otoe County.
