Three River Country Teams Top Subdistrict Seeds
Auburn, Palmyra and Falls City Sacred Heart are top seeds in their subdistricts
AUBURN - Three River Country teams are the top seeds in their sub district pairings for boys state basketball.
Auburn Bulldogs
Auburn will play the winner of the Falls City and Syracuse game at 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Subdistrict C-1 in Beatrice.
The Auburn Bulldogs are undefeated at 22 and 0 and ranked 579 in the nation by MaxPreps. They are ranked sixth in the state.
Auburn recently defeated Ogallala 73 to 68.
Auburn defeated Syracuse 66 to 33 on Feb. 11, defeated Palmyra 47 to 35 on Feb. 6, defeated Falls City 55 to 40 on Jan. 3, defeated Falls City Sacred Heart 45 to 31 on Jan. 21 and defeated Conestoga 71 to 34 and Jan. 28.
Auburn defeated Lourdes Central Catholic 64 to 29 on Jan. 14 and defeated Nebraska City 54 to 29 on Jan. 11.
If Auburn wins on Tuesday, it will play at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Palmyra Panthers
Palmyra is the top seed in subdistrict C-2, which will be played at Auburn. The Panthers enter the tournament with a 15 and 6 record.
The Panthers begin play at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 25 against Humboldt, Table Rock Steinauer.
Palmyra defeated Pawnee City 80 to 54 on Feb. 13.
Palmyra defeated Johnson County Central 70 to 55 on Feb. 3
Palmyra defeated Elmwood Murdock 47 to 40 on Jan. 30
Palmyra lost to Yutan 61 to 50 on Jan. 24.
Falls City Sacred Heart
Falls City Sacred Heart is the top seed in the Subdistrict D2-1. They enter the tournament played at Meridian with a 22 and 1 record.
The Irish defeated Fullerton 47 to 38 on Feb. 15.
Sacred Heart defeated Diller-Odell 68 to 17 on Feb. 11.
Sacred Heart defeated Johnson-Brock 52 to 30 on Feb. 8 and 41 to 30 on Jan. 30
Sacred Heart defeated Lourdes Central 50 to 34 on Feb. 6
Sacred Heart defeated Pawnee City 74 to 30 on Feb. 4
Sacred Heart lost to Auburn 45 to 31 on Jan. 21.
