Syracuse considers permits for outside storage

SYRACUSE - The Syracuse City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. today.

The agenda includes proposals to amend city zoning to allow for outside storage facilities and a public hearing on the budget.

Tom Compton proposes a change to the Old Towne Syracuse zoning district to establish a storage facility for trailers, campers, RVs and boats. He proposes using land in the flood plain near the former Elms Ballroom property west of the fairgrounds.

Kelly McIntosh of Syracuse proposes a conditional use in the city's industrial zone for outside storage near the railroad tracks.

The agenda also includes two new fire department members and an insurance discussion.
