Search Yields Meth, Stolen Shotgun
PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County Sheriff William Brueggemann reports that illegal drugs and weapons were discovered in a traffic stop Sunday on Rock Bluff Road northeast of the Beaver Lake Marina.
Deputies were assisted by a K9 unit from Nebraska City to search the vehicle and recover what Sheriff Brueggemann describes as a large amount of controlled substances, including methamphetamine and prescription drugs, a stolen sawed off shotgun and a defaced .357 revolver, as well as several knifes.
A sheriff’s office press release says a passenger, 34-year-old Adam Wolfing of Omaha, was subject of a Douglas County arrest warrant.
The sheriff says another passenger, 29-year-old Rebecca Norman of Bellevue, informed deputies that she had illegal drugs in her possession.
The driver, who was identified as 26-year-old Rebecca Newman of Beaver Lake, was also arrested and transported to jail.
The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Omaha, but deputies learned that the owner had recovered it without notifying Omaha police.
