Johnson County Board Discusses Fair, State Mowing

County calls on state for right of way maintenance

TECUMSEH – Johnson County commissioners discussed county fair responsibilities and maintenance along state highways.

Commissioners met with with District Engineer Tom Goodbarn regarding care of right of ways. The county has been working on some roadways that are the state's responsibility.

David Varner, associate director of Nebraska Extension, attended the meeting, along with Extension Educator Jessica Jones and and support staff Rae Ann Jones. They discussed how the 4-H Board and the Fair Board work together on different components of the county fair.

The board also declared a disaster for the July 15 flooding.  A disaster had previously been declared for spring flooding.
