The Kimball Lady Longhorns finished their regular season strong. After taking the runner-up spot at the WTC Conference Tournamet last week, they wrapped up their schedule with back to back games this weekend. On Friday night they were able to beat Hemingford 41-33.

On Saturday they faced off against a strong Lingle-Ft. Laramie team that led for most of the first three quarters before the Longhorns took the lead with the help of seven three-pointers from senior Addy Olsen. Kimball held the lead until the final minutes when the lady doggers fought back to tie the game in the final seconds. Kimball had already played one overtime game this season, beating Gordon-Rushville in OT to advance to the WTC semi-finals. This time, they were not able to control the doggers scoring and lost to Lingle-Ft. Laramie, 77-71.

The lady longhorns play again on Monday, hosting the first round of sub-district play with a game against Hemingford, their second match-up against the lady cats in four days.

The boys team went 2-0 on weekend with dominating wins home and away. On Friday night they were able to outscore a physically much larger team and beat Hemingford, 71-54.

On Saturday they went up against a Lingle-Ft. Laramie team that beat the longhorns last season en route to a Wyoming state title. This year the longhorns used the home court to come back from being down early to take a big lead at halftime. The longhorns continued their strong play and the foul trouble they got into late wouldn't matter as Kimball won 66-40. Kimball wraps up their regular season with a solo game vs. Mitchell next Friday night before continuing into sub-districts the following week.
