Fouraker withdraws his resignation from the Third Ward
FALLS CITY - The Falls City City Council has scheduled a special meeting Monday at 6 p.m.
The agenda includes Councilman Shawn Fouraker's withdrawal of his resignation for the Third Ward and the announcement of a special meeting on June 23.
The third reading of an ordinance for a bond issue that will provide up to $20 million in bonds for improvements to the electric system is also on the June 9 agenda.
FALLS CITY - The Falls City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2, at city hall.
The agenda includes a public hearing for a conditional use permit for firearms and ammunition sales at 1801 Stone St. by Isaac Knight.
A discussion item involves holding the city administrator accountable for not providing a treasurer’s report and duties during the city audit.
Councilman Kenny Killingsworth suggests tabling the $20 million bond until the city budget and finance are in order.
City Administrator Anthony Nussbaum said the bonds are necessary for an electric transmission line so the city does not lose a $15 million allocation from the state Legislature. He said the electrical line will allow growth, including growth for the Mid-American Rail Campus.
Vacant property registrations at 918 Fulton St. and 2212 Hiland Ave. are also on the agenda.
