PALMYRA - A red flag warning is in effect until 8 p.m. today for River Country.

The National Weather Service expects humidity as low as 25 percent and southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts of 40 mph.

Any fires that start are expected to spread rapidly.

There has already been one grass fire today. At 4:25 a.,m. – Palmyra, Douglas and Unadilla firefighters called out for a CRP field on fire at 14 and N roads.
