Prison ordered for Vape Town robbery
NEBRASKA CITY - Detharoun Sihakhom, 53, of Tecumseh was sentenced to seven to nine years in prison for robbery on May 12.
The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office arrest Sihakhom at his Tecumseh residence after investigating the Vape Town armed robbery on Mother’s Day.
An arrest affidavit says Vape Town video shows a suspect carrying a firearm and approaching the clerk. The clerk was taken to a back room where her hands and legs were bound. The cash register was emptied and the suspect went through the clerk’s purse before leaving a back door.
Area residents told deputies they saw a man dressed in all black in the area of Williams Park in Syracuse and a man dressed in all black with a Toyota parked east of Highway 50.
Footage from the nearby Riverstone Bank showed a man dressed in all black, but not wearing a mask.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office helped identify the bank photo.
In other court actions, an Otoe County District Court judge deferred sentenced for Gregory Jones, 18, of Compton, Calif., who is charged with possession of a forged instrument on June 27.
A Nebraska City police affidavit says a K9 was deployed after police contact with two men parked at a car wash. U.S. currency was found in a modified panel of the center console. Police say the money was counterfeit.
The Richardson County Sheriff’s Office has earlier arrested a woman on an Illinois warrant.
