Falls City announces para, school board achievements

FALLS CITY - Tabitha Nelson, a special education paraeducator, was awarded a teacher and transition scholarship aimed at addressing the teacher shortage in Nebraska.
Nelson, who is enrolled at Chadron State College, is pursuing a major in K-12 special education.
The Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association scholarship allows Nelson to participate in the para to teacher program. She is among three recipients of the $1,000 scholarship for the fall semester.
The Nebraska Association of School Boards awarded Falls City School Board member June Bowers with the Level 7 Award for her exceptional commitment and service.
School board members Anthony Johansen, Teresa Olberding and Cassondra Goff received level 1 awards with their early contributions to the success of the district.
At the board’s Oct. 14 meeting, Bowers was appointed to be a delegate assembly representative at the Nebraska Association of School Boards.
