Lost truck wheel sparks grass fire

NEBRASKA CITY – A freight truck lost a front wheel on Highway 75 Tuesday sparking a grass fire near G Road.

Nebraska City Fire and Rescue responded to the fire in grass and timber on land owned by Harry Baker west of the highway.

 

An NSP Transportation driver picked up portions of the wheel along the highway.

The Nebraska Rangeland Fire Danger index has most of River Country in the moderate risk Wednesday.
