YORK – The Nebraska State Patrol reports the discovery of 77 pounds of methamphetamine following an Interstate 80 traffic stop near York.

A press release says a state trooper discovered that the Hyundai Sonata stopped Saturday did not have insurance and methamphetamine was found during a two inventory.

The driver, Rosita Vizcarra, 28, and passenger, Julio Garcia-Guerrero, 26, both of Omaha, are suspected of possession with intent to deliver. They were held in York County.

 Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol located 77 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and arrested two people during a traffic stop Saturday on Interstate 80 near York.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. Saturday, a trooper stopped a Hyundai Sonata for speeding on I-80, near mile marker 355. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered that the vehicle was not insured. 

Prior to towing the vehicle, troopers performed an inventory of the vehicle and discovered numerous container bags of suspected methamphetamine. The total weight of the bags was 77 pounds.

The driver, Rosita Vizcarra, 28, and passenger, Julio Garcia-Guerrero, 26, both of Omaha, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver. Both were lodged in York County Jail.
