Auburn advances road work, elects Janssen
Auburn Chamber of Commerce presents year in review
AUBURN - The Auburn City Council accepted Constructors Inc.’s bid of $895,000 for work on S and P streets. The bid was $141,000 below the city engineer’s opinion of probable cost.
It includes $393,000 for asphalt concrete and $127,000 for concrete curb and gutter.
The city council also authorized the issuance of up to $1 million in highway allocation bonds. The city expects to receive $500,000 this year from highway allocation.
The city council elected Rick Janssen as council president.

- Safety: Shawn Clark, Blake Goering and Chris Darnell
- Budget & finance: Katy Billings and Rick Janssen
- Economic development: Billings and Nathan Seitz
- Building: Shawn Clark and Tom Clark
- Insurance: Shawn Clark and Seitz
- Housing: Janssen and Jeanneret
- Ordinance: Chris Erickson, Jeanneret, Seitz, Brent Lottman, Angelo Ligouri, Chris Darnell and Crystal Dunekacke.
The Auburn Chamber of Commerce’s year in review includes 27 new members, six ribbon cuttings and 20 chamber events. There were seven summer sounds concerts and a lemonade stand camp.
The chamber reports 2,158 Facebook followers, up 39 percent.
