BLAIR, Neb. -- Authorities say they are investigating an accident that killed a Blair man.

On Sunday around 9:50 p.m., Washington County deputies, Blair Fire and Rescue, and Kennard Fire and Rescue responded to an accident at the intersection of Highway 133 and County Road P26.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said their investigation determined that a Toyota Tacoma pickup was heading east on County Road P26 and a Chevrolet Impala was heading south on Highway 133.

Officials said that the driver of the Tacoma, 64-year-old Ramon Gutierrez, failed to stop at the stop sign. This reportedly caused the Impala to hit the pickup on the driver's side.

Gutierrez died due to the accident.

The Sheriff's Office said that the driver and passenger of the Impala refused medical treatment.

Gutierrez's family has been notified.
