OMAHA, Neb. -- A Texas man that was involved in pharmacy burglaries in the Omaha area was given prison time.

Acting U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr said 32-year-old Christopher Williams, of Texas, was sentenced on in federal court in Omaha on Aug. 23. He was convicted for his involvement in a string of pharmacy burglaries in Nebraska. Williams will serve 63 months in prison with a three-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal system. Williams has to pay $24,917 in restitution.

Officials said seven Nebraska pharmacies in Springfield, Fremont, and Omaha, were burglarized from Feb. 10, 2021, to Feb. 12, 2021. A Drug Enforcement Administration-led task force was formed, which included the Omaha Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol.

Court documents state that they used cell-tower data, videos taken from the burglaries, and cell phone location data, the task force was able to identify specific cell phones that were at the different burglaries. The data showed that the cell phones were traveling between Texas and Nebraska via Interstate 35.

According to authorities, law enforcement agencies in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Iowa, helped determined that two people involved in the pharmacy burglaries were Christopher Blanton and Williams.

Blanton was sentenced on May 17, 2023, to 63 months in prison.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Omaha Police Department, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
