OMAHA - A freeze warning is in effect from tonight through Sunday morning for over half of the state.

The National Weather Service says sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees are expected and a watch is issued for temperatures as low as 24 degrees. 

The warning covers 54 counties, including Valley, Greeley, Nance, Sherman, Howard, Merrick, Polk, Dawson, Buffalo, Hall, Hamilton, York, Gosper, Phelps, Kearney, Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Furnas, Harlan, Franklin, Webster, Nuckolls, Thayer, Knox, Cedar, Thurston, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Platte, Colfax, Dodge, Washington, Butler, Saunders, Douglas, Sarpy, Seward, Lancaster, Cass, Otoe, Saline, Jefferson, Gage, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee and Richardson Counties in Nebraska.
