Herbster announces formation of conservative PAC

FALLS CITY, NE – Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster has announced that he is forming political action committee.
Herbster, who finished as runner-up to Jim Pillen in the Republican primary, announced that he founded the Nebraska First PAC. Herbster faced controversy in the run-up to the election, with multiple women, including State Sen. Julie Slama, accusing Herbster of sexual assault. Herbster later sued Slama, with Slama eventually countersuing Herbster.
Herbster said he intends to use the PAC to "educate voters on policy issues and important legislation while promoting conservative values to make Nebraska’s Good Life Great."
“A lot of people have asked me what I planned to do following the primary election,” Herbster said in an email. “While I came up short in my bid to be our next governor, I fully intend to remain active in fighting for the traditional Christian conservative values our state and country were founded on.
Herbster said he intends to ask all state legislators to sign two separate pledges. One of the pledges, Herbster said, will support making all votes for leadership positions in the Nebraska Legislature public tallies. Herbster said the second pledge will confirm support of a constitutional carry amendment.
“This is not about me," Herbster said. "This is about the people of Nebraska."
