Live music set to return to MJPL
The Kerry Grombacher and Aspen Black Duo is heading to Nebraska City for a free February concert.
NEBRASKA CITY - The Morton-James Public Library announced in a press release Friday that it will be hosting a concert in the Kimmel Gallery on Feb. 18.
The Kerry Grombacher and Aspen Black Duo is the musical group performing and the group is influenced by the English ballad tradition.
Grombacher and Black have both found individual success in their careers, but have been working together since 2014. Their songs tell the intriguing stories of explorers, settlers, Indians and cowboys that helped shape the West.
Grombacher plays guitar and mandolin and has released six albums of original songs in his career. His songs have been featured on the TV show "Born to Explore" and the CD "Cowboy Playgrounds" which was released in over 60 countries.
Black, who plays guitar and bass, was a Top Five finalist for the International Western Music Association's Female Poet of the Year in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
In 2017, Black's "Lovin' the West" won the Rural Roots Music Commission's 2017 Classic Western CD of the Year award.
The concert is free and open to the public with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the concert beginning at 7 p.m.
Limited seating is available and masks will be optional.
