DJ Bridwell confirmed for Auburn birthday

AUBURN – Auburn Arts & Events updated the city council on the latest tentative schedule for Auburn’s 139^th birthday celebration on Saturday, May 1.

DJ Bridwell, a second-generation country music artist from Nebraska, has a May 1 date in Auburn listed on his website, and Leslie Clark of Auburn said an opening act is being booked.

The band’s first single under the country record label Third & James, was released in October.

The Auburn City Council approved a $375 expenditure for 25 dozen cupcakes for the birthday party. Café Metro will bake and decorate the cupcakes.

Other activities being considered include a birthday fun run, Auburn history scavenger hunt and business window decorating.
