LINCOLN – Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson released a new poster with a human trafficking hotline on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation is updating human trafficking hotline posters in rest areas along Interstate 80. The new posters have the national hotline numbers, as well as a QR code that takes users to the attorney general’s website, where there are short videos about the different signs of human trafficking.

The attorney general also released the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force 2020 review. Nebraska says prosecution of human trafficking has increased in Nebraska. More than a third of all prosecutions ever brought in the state began in 2020.
