OMAHA – The Community Corrections Center in Omaha reports that inmate Matthew Saxton, 36, walked away from detention on Aug. 1.

Saxton was serving a four to seven-year sentence for convictions out of Sarpy County and was parole eligible in September.

A press release from the Nebraska Department of  Corrections  says Saxton was suppose to go to his job in the community, but went to his girlfriend’s residence instead. The press release says she contacted authorities after she and Saxton had an argument.

He is suspected of removing an electronic monitoring device before leaving the area.
