County Claims Firearm, Marijuana Violations
Bond for Missouri man set with $1,000 provision

NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Attorney’s Office has filed firearm, drug stamp and marijuana charges against a 28-year-old Missouri man who had been traveling on Highway 2.
Court records say a sheriff’s deputy followed Anthony Crawford when he pulled off the highway and went to the Dollar General in Syracuse.
In an arrest affidavit, the deputy says he approached the car when the driver and a passenger came out of the store. He said he asked about the vehicle tags because Otoe County dispatch had informed him that New York motor vehicle records were not accessible at that time.
The deputy said he smelled marijuana and searched the rental car.
The affidavit says three dispensary bags with 1.6 pounds of marijuana were found, along with a 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun.
Bond for Crawford was set with a $1,000 provision.
