AUBURN - Auburn pharmacist Hyrum Wilson has been charged in the Eastern District of Virginia with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and conspiracy to use a fire and explosives.

If convicted he face up 20 years in prison and $1 million fine on the drug distribution charge. For the fire and explosives charge he faces up 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

He is also charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of the drug distribution charge which can carry a life sentence.

Wilson, 41, is owner of Hyrum Family Value Pharmacy in Auburn. His arrest followed the arrest of William Burgamy, 32, of Maryland.

Federal authorities say the men conspired to fire bomb Cody’s U-Save Pharmacy in Auburn so that Hyrum could increase his handling of opium-based drugs without suspicion.

Wilson moved to Auburn in 2015.
