NEBRASKA CITY - Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette says while Gov. Ricketts’ latest directed health measures covers all of Nebraska’s 93 counties, the statewide DHM does not apply to some businesses such as salons, tattoo parlors and other businesses.

The mayor said the statewide DHM requires no more than 10 people in most businesses and requires a social distancing of six feet.

He questioned how that can be accomplished in salons and tattoo parlors where providers have to touch customers.

Local directed health measures in Omaha, Lincoln and Cass County have closed salons, but Mayor Bequette said Nebraska City does not have a local DHM to close salons.

He expects it to be a topic at today’s health board meeting.

The governors’ DHM does not close grocery stores or day cares where a six-foot distance is practiced.

Some Nebraska City salons have voluntarily closed down, but the statewide DHM does not require it.
