June 29 – Five new cases reported in Otoe County: a female in her 80s, two females in  their 50s, a male in his 80s and male in his teens. Otoe County now has 21 cases confirmed. Johnson, 6, Nemaha, Richardson, 5 and Pawnee, 0.

June 16 – 13th cases reported in Otoe County, a mile in his 60s.

June 15 – Falls City council agrees to open Candlelight Cabin on June 22.

June 7 – One new case in Otoe County, a man in his 20s, and a new case in Richardson County, man in his 60s.

June 2 – A male in his 20s is the seventh case in Otoe County. Otoe County’s seventh case surpasses Johnson county as the most cases in Southeast District.

June 1 – Southeast District Health Director Grant Brueggemann told the Nebraska City Health Board his office has no evidence of community spread of COVID-19. 629 people had been tested in the county. Gathering restrictions had been relaxed from 10 to 25 people.

June 1 – Gov. Pete Ricketts said the state expects a rise in cases due to demonstrations over the the death of George Floyd.

May 27 – Department of Motor Vehicle opens at Otoe County courthouse

May 27 – The Nebraska City Health Board receives a report of no positives out of 169 people tested at Nebraska City.

May 23 – SEHD reports cases: Johnson, 6; Otoe, 6; Nemaha, 2; Richardson, 2; Pawnee 0. The latest case was a Richardson County man in his 30s.

May 21 – Cass County closes courthouse until Tuesday, May 26, after an employee tests positive for COVID-19.

May 19 – Sarpy/Cass Health Department reports third death from COVID-19. Man in his 80s had close contact with a person who had COVID-19.

May 18 – Cass County policy requiring masks in public buildings goes into effect.

May 18 – SEHD reports two cases, a man in his teens in Nemaha County and a woman in her 20s in Otoe County. Cumulative totals are Johnson, 6; Nemaha, 2; Otoe, 6; Pawnee, 0, Richardson, 1.

May 17 – Iowa officials report 323 additional cases and five more deaths for a total of 351 deaths.

May 15 – The Sarpy/Cass Health Department reports first death in Cass County. It involved a woman in her 60s.

May 15 – SEHD confirms man in his 20s is sixth case in Johnson County.

May 14 - The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services reports 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cass County.

May 13 - The Southeast District Health Department confirmed three additional cases of coronavirus within the district. The three cases involved two Otoe County residents and a Richardson County resident.

May 13 - Community Medical Center in Falls City reports a COVID-19 case. The patient is the first confirmed case in Richardson County.

May 12 - Cass County orders masks for people going into public buildings

May 12 – Nebraska holds America’s first in-person election since April 7.

May 11 – Cass County re-opens public buildings with six-foot distance rule

May 11 – City of Tecumseh cites risk management advice in vote not to open the newly constructed aquatic center this year.

May 8 – SEHD reports eighth case and fifth in Johnson County. A Women in her 50s.

May 7 – Fremont County Public Health Director Jamie Behrends reports the first case of COVID-19 in Fremont County. The person is 41 to 60 years old.

The report comes 60 days after Iowa reported its first case on March 8. The first case had been on a cruise ship to Egypt.
Fremont County Public Health does not state whether the Fremont County case is community spread.

Iowa reports 417 patients hospitalized compared to 413 the prior day. 151 patients are in the ICU. Iowa has three counties with more than 1,000 cases and four other counties with over 500 cases each.

May 7 – Hiawatha, Kan., reports coronavirus found in wastewater supply.

May 7 – Workers report notice of COVID-19 in Nebraska City, but health district says guidance from Gov. Pete Ricketts says only total numbers of cases should be reported. Not data specific to a food processor or nursing home.

May 7 – Mass COVID-19 testing conducted at fire hall in Tecumseh.

May 4 – Southeast District Health Department issues DHM. Hair salons, fitness centers open. Restaurants 50 percent capacity. Daycares limit to 15 people per room.

May 1 – The second case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Otoe County. A woman in her 20s. Nebraska has 4,281 cases and 70 deaths. Other counties – Cass, 5; Johnson, 4; Nemaha, 1.

April 29 – Nebraska DHHS reports 3,358 cases and 55 deaths. Hall,  Douglas, Dakota and Dawson counties have over 400 cases each. Iowa reports 508 new cases and 304 new patients hospitalized.

April 28 – Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird outlined factors for easing restrictions. A 14-day period with flat or declining numbers of new cases indicates a lower risk.

April 27 – Nebraska’s 330 new cases was highest in a single day

April 27 – Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds says restaurants, fitness centers and retail business can open at 50 percent capacity on May 1. Churches open May 1 with social distancing.

April 24 – Gov. Ricketts announces 48 percent of the state’s hospital beds are available. He will ease restrictions on May 4. The state will issue separate DHMs for each of state’s 19 health districts.
