Avoca man serving sentence for first sexual assault of a child

LINCOLN  – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports the death of an inmate at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institute.

Raymond Daniels, 71, formerly of Avoca, died Jan. 15, while serving a sentenced of 30 to 50 years out of Cass County for sexual assault of a child.

His sentence started on June 1, 2015.

 The cause of death has yet to be determined.

As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
