Weed Sprayer Arrested On Meth Charge

NEBRASKA CITY – A woman working to spray roadside ditches for noxious weeds was arrested Thursday for suspicion of methamphetamine.

An arrest affidavit says a 35-year-old Kristy Bender pulled her International straight truck to be weighed at the Highway 2 weigh station west of Nebraska City. A state trooper decided to do an inspection on the truck and learned there was an active arrest warrant for Bender out of Iowa.

The affidavit says residue of methamphetamine was found in a pipe in her purse.
