KIMBALL -- The Kimball Hospital Foundation is bringing Las Vegas fun to Kimball at its eighth annual Casino Night Fundraiser March 7 at the Sage Brush.

Casino Night will feature 16 casino-quality gaming tables, professional dealers and a pit boss provided by Deuces Wild Casino Rentals in Colorado Springs, according to Kerry Ferguson, director of the foundation.

Games offered this year include 10 blackjack tables, roulette, two craps tables, and two Texas hold-em tables.

Guests will enjoy music from a live DJ, hors D’ Oeuvres, adult beverages, and casino chips to use at the variety of gaming tables, Ferguson said.

“People will get $200 worth of casino chips when they come in, and they will take those chips to the tables and gamble with them for 3 hours, then however many tickets they get with those chips, they can enter those into a drawing,” Ferguson said.

The night will conclude with the cash prize drawings, and there is $1,100 worth of visa gift cards that people can win.

“It’s kind of a different way of going about it, but it ensures it’s all very legal, and we’re just really looking forward to a good time,” Ferguson said.

Proceeds from Casino Night will go toward helping the Foundation purchase additional surgery equipment at the hospital.

“We have a couple of new provider surgeons that have joined us here at the hospital, and they’re just looking for additional surgery equipment,” Ferguson said. “There are several things that they're needing in order to do their jobs, and we want to provide whatever it is on the top of their lists.”

At a real casino, if the players lose, they lose, but at the Foundation’s Casino Night, if a guest loses all their chips, they can get additional chips for either a donation or some other fun activity.

The dealers at each table will explain the rules to anyone who is not familiar with how to play.

There will also be a live auction and a silent auction at the end of the night.

Live auction items include a custom-made Nebraska Huskers Special Edition AL-15 5.56 mm rifle and Vortex scope sponsored by AutoLok Industries in Kimball; two vacation packages for two people to Hot Springs, South Dakota and a Pauly Shore comedian performance in Denver, donated by the KHS department heads; four high-end date night dinners including appetizers, drinks and a bouquet of flowers sponsored by Currie’s Family Dining in Pine Bluffs; a “hunter’s gift package” including a Yeti cooler filled with venison; a professional photo session including 15 edited images sponsored by JEC Photography; advertising packages by KIMB Radio in Kimball and KGWN TV in Cheyenne and Scottsbluff; a hand-made custom wooden football donated by Rich Creations; four tickets to next year’s Kimball Community Concert series and several others.

Doors to the Sage Brush will open at 5:30 p.m., and the games begin at 6 p.m. Guests must be 21 or over to attend. Admission is free; however, a $50 donation is suggested.

Casino Night tickets are available by calling the Foundation at 308-235-1967 or at the door.
