GoodLife Agriculture reports successful Scandinavian trip
Nebraska City company attends salmon show in Copenhagen

NEBRASKA CITY- GoodLife Agriculture Project Manager John Humphrey reported a successful trip this winter to Scandinavia at Monday’s Nebraska City City Council meeting.
He and company founder Kiel VanderVeen visited Iceland and Copenhagen, Denmark, and Bergen, Norway.
He said the intent was to meet with large fish producers, such as Mowi ASA (the largest producer of Atlantic Salmon) and Seawell, a salmon producer from Denmark.
Humphrey: “We met with them for the purpose of discussing supply contracts. It’s kind of like any protein market, they have contract business and they have a lot of spot market business, so we’re talking through that with them.”
They attended a salmon show in Copenhagen where Marel was demonstrating equipment that is expected to be used in Nebraska City.
He said they also toured a trout farm in Norway and were encouraged that they could some day include trout processing at the Nebraska location.
He said a grading and drainage plan for the construction site will be available for a conditional use permit hearing in March.
