Flood calls delays on Homeland Security bill 'reckless'

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nebraska congressman Mike Flood provided media with an update on the Homeland Security funding bill Sunday, as well as an update on E15 support.
He said the U.S. Senate sent back a portion of the funding bill to the House referencing the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but he expects the funding to rebound soon.
Flood: “Listen, if House Democrats want to defund the police there’s a lot more they are doing than hurting our ICE efforts. FEMA is disrupted, that’s the federal emergency management. TSA and air traffic control would work without pay again and ICE and border patrol would be severely limited impacting our national security.
"So, in my opinion, it’s reckless right now to shut down this department. Democrats have to come to the table – like the Senate Democrats did – and govern responsibly.”
Flood said he is confident Democrats will realize the value of the funding bill they had essentially already passed.
He also welcomed President Trump’s support for year-long ethanol use in motor fuels, saying E-15 promises a huge boost to the farm economy.
Flood also referenced "key investments' in the federal funding
