AUBURN - Jacob Armagost, 35, of Lincoln is charged in Nemaha County with terroristic threats on Dec. 28 and child abuse on Dec. 19.

A sheriff’s office affidavit says deputies were dispatched to Maple Street in Johnson for a welfare check after a woman went to a Quick Stop and asked for help. The woman then returned as a passenger to a Ford Escape, which drove away.

Deputies stopped the car and removed the driver. The woman explained a black eye and described being kicked on multiple areas of her body. She said she was being coerced into traveling with Armagost to Lincoln.

A bond of $250,000 was set in county court.

In a separate case,  Zebashtian Rasmussen, 24, of Nebraska City is charged with strangulation on Dec. 29.

A Nemaha County Sheriff’s deputy told the court he received a 911 call from the Caseys General Store regarding a protection order violation. The affidavit says a woman told deputies she made the 911 call at the store about a choking incident because Rasmussen had taken her phone.

Rasmussen was stopped in Richardson County and denied the choking the woman.

Bond was continued at $100,000.

Also in county court, Aimee Vermeer, 50, of Sterling is charged with possession on Dec. 24.

A Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says meth residue was found in a pipe.
