AUBURN, NE - The Auburn Bulldogs and Falls City-Sacred Heart Irish split a doubleheader on the court in Auburn on Tuesday, as heard on B103.

The opener saw FC-SH pick up a 55-23 win. The Irish were up just five points after the first quarter, but they built a 36-16 lead by the break. The three-ball was big for FC-SH, as the top three scorers for the visiting squad combined to hit eight of them. Freshman Bailey Lemerond led the charge with 14 points, Avery Santo hit for ten, and Payten Georges dropped in nine. Auburn got a team-best six from Addie Darnell. Auburn fell to 3-10 with the loss, while FC-SH improved to 11-4.

In the boys' game, Auburn took control from the start, dominating in a 21-3 opening stanza and finishing with a 72-42 triumph. FC-SH saw Cole Taft top the team with 14 points, while Bo Fletcher added twelve & Brenden Lemerond tacked on eleven. Brenton Wenzl was the leading scorer for Auburn, sending home six triples and pouring in 22 points. Ryan Guenther hit for 20, and Brayan Palmer finished with ten. Auburn is now 11-1 on the season, while FC-SH sits at 5-7.

Next up for the Irish is a trip to Rock Port, MO, on Thursday; while Auburn will bring in Nebraska City for a Friday DH.
