Kimball Farmer’s Day Committee organizes name contest for 100th celebration

KIMBALL -- One lucky community member has the chance to personally name the 100th Farmer’s Day celebration in Kimball.
With 2026 marking the 100th Farmer’s Day, the committee has started a contest for community members to submit their entry of what the celebration name should be.
“It’s the hundredth-year celebration, so we really wanted to involve the community as much as possible,” said Farmer’s Day Committee Secretary Amber Sweetland. “We thought it would be a good, fun way to start reminding people that this very significant anniversary is coming up.”
To enter the Naming Contest, comment your best name on the original post on the Kimball Farmer’s Day Committee Facebook page or submit a piece of paper with your name suggestion and contact information and drop it off at the Kimball Library.
A few entries so far have suggested:
- "Farmer's Day - A Century in the Making"
- "Still Worth the Work - 100 Years Strong, 250 Years Free"
- “A Century of Community Love.”
The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Heritage Cafe.
The deadline to submit is February 4, and the winner will be announced February 10.
