AUBURN -  A Nemaha County sheriff’s deputies identified a prowler suspect in Auburn as 47-year-old Shawn Dughman.

Dughman, 47, of Auburn was held on a $50,000 bond on charges of burglary and stalking on Nov. 22.

A sheriff’s office affidavit says a M Street resident reported an unknown male looking in windows. A 16-year-old girl and a woman living at the residence reported that a man was on the roof of the house looking into bedroom windows.

The homeowner said his family woke him and he called up security camera footage showing a man walking back and forth across this property prior to midnight.

The affidavit says footage shows the man grabbing a ladder and using it to look in windows. The resident claims that footage audio indicates to him that the basement door opened and closed.

Deputies were called back to the house after midnight because someone rode by the house on a bicycle.

The affidavit describes five video clips beginning at 10:29 p.m. when a man is seen coming down the resident’s step ladder. The ladder had earlier been used to clean gutters.

The second clip shows a man looking at the security camera, turning away and going toward the residents’ vehicle.

In the third clip the man approaches the house, grabs the ladder and looks toward the bedroom windows.

The fourth clip shows the man carrying the ladder.

The fifth clip at 10:40 p.m. shows the man going to a landing with view of the bedroom.

The sixth clip has audio that the residents said sounded like the opening of the basement door.

The seventh clip at 1:36 a.m. shows a man riding a bicycle in the alleyway.

The affidavit says Auburn authorities received an additional call regarding a prowler.

Deputies also responded to a prowler report at a P Street residence. A woman told investigators she woke just before 4 a.m. because of notifications on her Blink security camera. She said the footage showed a man riding a bicycle in her backyard.

The affidavit says video footage shows the suspect looking at bedroom windows of the P Street residence.

The Nemaha County Attorney’s Office filed a complaint alleging burglary and stalking at the M Street residence and attempted burglary at the P Street residence.
