AUBURN - Dana Groves, 31, of Auburn was sentenced to one to two years in prison for terroristic threats and use of a firearm to commit a felony on March 19.

A Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says deputies responded to a report of shots fired at Groves’ Q Street residence in Auburn.

Deputies were told conflicting stories about events leading up to the shot, but a cell phone video captured Groves emerging from his house and firing a shot into the ground near a man he had been arguing with. The affidavit says the video disputes Groves’ statements that the man came onto his yard to the front porch and was reaching for something in his waistband before the shot.

Groves was given credit for 253 days already served.
