NEBRASKA CITY- The Pioneer Band added the U.S. Space Force to the Anthems of the Six Armed Forces at its Veterans Day concert Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Building.

Semper Supra is an official anthem of the Space Force.

Band Director Emily Jones, an 18-year member of the 43rd Army Band of the Nebraska National Guard, was joined in uniform by her sister and Middle School Band Director Elizabeth Purdham.

Jones: "It is a different composition than the other five branches. I think partly that it's newer, so the harmonic progressions are a little different than the traditional march style of the other five branches. It's in 6/8 time like the Air Force, but it definitely has a different tonality than the other ones."

Semper Supra joins the “The Marines’ Hymn,” “The Army Goes Rolling Along,” “Anchors Aweigh” and the “US Air Force.”

Semper Supra was officially adopted as the U.S. Space Force anthem in 2019 with the formation of the service. It was written and arranged by the Air Force band in collaboration with Space Force leaders to reflect the motto “always above.”

SEMPER SUPRA
The Official U.S. Space Force Song

We're the mighty watchful eye,
 Guardians beyond the blue,
 The invisible front line,
 Warfighters brave and true.
 Boldly reaching into space,
There's no limit to our sky.
Standing guard both night and day,
We're the Space Force from on high.
