AUBURN - Cole Lavigne, 33, of Johnson was sentenced to a year of probation for attempted assault on Feb. 15.

A Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says a woman had a bloody lower lip, matted hair from blood on back of her head and blood on her cheeks and neck. Although the woman told investigators it was no big deal, a witness told a deputy he had to pull Lavigne off of the woman before he called 911.

The woman was transported by rescue squad to the hospital where she received treatment for a laceration.
