Richardson County deputy accesses Texas DMV records after Highway 75 traffic stop
Arrest warrant issued after stop in Auburn
FALLS CITY- Debra Westmoreland, 56, presumably of Texas is charged in Richardson County with impersonation.
A sheriff’s office affidavit says a KIA was stopped on Highway 75 on Sept. 6, but a passenger gave a false identification.
The dispatcher told the deputy the plates on the KIA came back to Debra Parrish of Polk County, Texas, but a passenger in the KIA claimed to be Shelley Graves.
The deputy accessed Texas DMV records including a photo of the real Ms. Graves, which did not match the passenger. He was able to find Westmoreland's photo in the DMV records.
The deputy told the court that when he returned to the area where the stopped had been made, the KIA was gone.
A Nemaha County sheriff’s deputy later located the car at a gas station in Auburn.
The Richardson County affidavit says the passenger Westmoreland is not Shelley Graves as she claimed, but is actually Debra Parrish Westmoreland of North Zulich, Texas.
She was released when deputies confirmed her identity after the Auburn stop. She is now the subject of an arrest warrant.
