Awakened Lincoln man charged with attempted assault on deputy along Highway 2

NEBRASKA CITY – In Otoe County court news, a Lincoln man is charged with attempting to assault officers along Highway 2, a Nebraska City man is charged with assault at NP Mart and police make additional possession arrests.
Alexander Banner, 37, of Lincoln is charged in Otoe County with attempted assault on an officer, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine on Sept. 8.
An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says deputies were dispatched to Highway 2 on a report of erratic driving. The affidavit says a deputy found Banner sleeping in the back seat of a car that was parked on the driving lane west of Unadilla. The affidavit says Banner lunged at a deputy before he was handcuffed and threatened harm to a second deputy when being placed inside a patrol car. The sheriff’s office says a baggie with cocaine was found in a jail search.
A bond of $100,000 was set.
Maxell O’Dill, 28, of Nebraska City is charged with assault by strangulation on Aug. 30.
A police affidavit says officers were dispatched to NP Mart on an assault complaint to find a front window of the store broken. The affidavit says O’Dill grabbed man by the neck outside of the store and shoved the man into the window.
Christopher Carlson, 28, of Nebraska City is charged with possession on Sept. 17.
A Nebraska City police affidavit says officers assisted in a probation search of an Eighth Avenue residence and say meth residue was found on a cellophane wrapper.
Tomas Pablo Xon, 36, of Nebraska City is charged with possession of Tramadol on Sept. 16.
A police affidavit says Xon was arrested following a South 11th Street traffic stop.
