Union Pacific Railroad contributes to Nebraska City Riverview Nature Park
Community Ties Giving Program benefits local organizations at work for community betterment
NEBRASKA CITY – The Union Pacific Railroad Community Ties Giving Program is supporting the Riverview Nature Park revitalization plan.
Friends of Nebraska City Riverview Nature Park president Brianna Graham said the Union Pacific’s donation will help remove invasive species, plant new trees and improve the park’s trail system.
Liisa Lawson Stark, vice president of public affairs for the railroad, said the Union Pacific is proud to support organizations doing the hard work on the ground to improve the quality of life in their communities.

Friends of Nebraska City Riverview Nature Park on Track for Success with Union Pacific Grant
Nebraska City, NE, 9/10/2025 –Friends of Nebraska City Riverview Nature Park is the proud recipient of a Union Pacific Railroad Community Ties Giving Program grant, which will benefit the Riverview Nature Park revitalization plan.
“We are thrilled by Union Pacific’s donation to our park revitalization that is removing invasive species, planting beneficial species and constructing and improving trails within the park for our community. The park is essential wildlife habitat in the critical Missouri River Basin migratory flyway, and Union Pacific has shown a commitment to improving environmental sustainability with their support.” Said group President, Briana Graham.
Union Pacific’s Community Ties Giving Program provides small- and medium-sized grants that align with
the railroad’s priority cause areas in safety, workforce development, community vitality and environmental sustainability.

Friends of Nebraska City Riverview Nature Park is a non-profit volunteer group with a mission to support the environment and maintain the old-growth nature park for use by our community. Friends also provides science based educational opportunities for Nebraska City and surrounding communities.
