AUBURN – Organizer Jenika Mullins is hoping the Small Town Shenanigans Flea Market will put Auburn on the annual flea market circuit.

She said the event got its start with the purchase of the old Legion building at 915 Ninthth St. and networking with local businesses.

Mullins: “It was very fitting to do an event here in Auburn . We love networking and bringing business into our community.”

The first flea market featured dozens of vendors ranging from color fingernails, metal work, craft kits for kids and 3D printed action toys.

Mullins said it feels good to put the old Legion building back into use and get the flea market underway.

Mullins: “Lots of quirks and kinks. The rain and the heat have played a factor, but our vendors our out here. They’re looking for a good turnout.”

The market is scheduled across the street from the Nemaha County Fair Aug. 9 through 12.
